About Child Enterprises

Child Enterprises was started in 1974 as a branch off from Earl S. Child Masonry.  Earl Child gave Richard Child the means to get started in the masonry industry.  He also helped create the vision of what Child Enterprises would become.  Earl started his self made career in the late 40’s and early 50’s doing residential and small commercial projects.  It wasn’t long until he set his sites on larger commercial projects throughout the states of Utah, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, and many other western states.  With his bold and often stubborn demeanor, Earl proved to be a formidable contractor who experienced great success in the masonry industry.

30 Years of Quality

Earl Child's Lifetime Achievement Award

Some of Earl’s more notable projects include: the American Fork, Lehi, Cottonwood, and Manti High Schools, the Navajo Community College in Arizona, the dormitories at Montana State University in Bozeman Montana, the Catholic School in Helena Montana, the restoration of the Carson City Nevada State Capitol Building, restoration of the Grant Humphrey Mansion in Denver Colorado, the Washington Temple, the Capitol Theater renovation, the Hotel Utah wing additions, and the Logan Temple Annex just to name a few.
Though Earl’s legacy in masonry is impressive, the legacy he’s most proud of is that of his family.  Together, with his wife, Lois, they boast 18 grandchildren and over 30 great-grandchildren.
Recently, Earl was awarded a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Utah Masonry Council’s 2005 Excellence Awards.  Earl laid the foundation and set the standard for what the company, Child Enterprises, has become today.
